Ben Barger Racing at the 2008 Olympic Games

Benjamin “Ben” Barger is a world-class sailor, professional athlete, a 2008 US Olympian and medal hopeful for the 2012 Olympics in London. He was the unofficial alternate in the 2004 Olympics and just out of the medals as a member of the 2007 Pan American Team. Ben is a seven-time national champion in the Olympic windsurfing discipline and placed on the podium at various world cup events. The international media, including CNN, FoxNews, Eurosport, NBC Nightly News, and NPR has spotlighted Ben as an athlete to watch in the Olympics. He has been the undefeated American in the United States since 2003 and is now making a full time push towards the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Using his sailing skills, Ben also is chairman of the ISAF Athletes Commission representing athlete’s views to the board of directors and the executive of the World Sailing Federation. He also manages At Home Technologies a Tampa Bay Area business that deploys audio, visual, security, lighting and wiring to residential and commercial applications.

The journey to the Olympics is a community effort for Ben, working and fundraising a majority of the resources necessary to compete at the highest pinnacle. He speaks at a variety of charities and events to promote health, nutrition and “Olympism”
